Gilba, Djiraly and Bobo – are these the names of the Spanish musketeers or perhaps the hot tips for this weekend’s horse racing trifecta?  No, they are Noongar names for some of our local native grasses.

Nancy will be describing a range of native grasses and their role in our wonderful bushland.

Nancy has been growing Australian native plants for nearly 30 years and is the owner of the family-run Australian Native Nursery in Oakford.  Initially trees were grown for rural properties and plants for rehabilitation, but now the nursery concentrates on retailing plants and limiting wholesale contracts. Australian Native Nursery endeavours to grow as many different species as possible that are suitable for gardens, including a range of native grasses.

Nancy is a great supporter of local environmental groups in bushland endeavours.
