“New Creations from the Kings Park Development Programme” Digby Growns

Kings Park is the only botanic garden in the world to focus on breeding native plants for horticultural use. Digby Growns is the Senior Plant Breeder at Kings Park, charged to use advanced development techniques to breed native hybrids to survive and thrive in our changing climate.
Since the programme started in the 1970s, more than 50 varieties have been developed and sold, both nationally and internationally. He will describe how this programme is carried out, and where they hope to go in future.
The Wildflower Society uses its independent technical knowledge of WA’s wildflowers to help you better know, grow, enjoy and conserve the wildflowers of Western Australia.
