Perth Branch General Meeting with David James on the Anstey-Keane Dampland
11 November @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
David James
Reflections on the Anstey-Keane Dampland
Launched earlier in the year by its authors Bryony Fremlin and David James, Reflections on the Anstey-Keane Dampland, showcases the stunning biodiversity of the reserve as well as the bushland of the Swan Coastal Plain. Now part of the Jandakot Regional Park, Anstey-Keane Dampland is a Bush Forever site totalling 302 ha in Perth’s southeast, one of the richest in the Perth metro area. As well as a rich array of fauna it harbours kwongkan shrubland, Banksia woodland as well as the winter-wet dampland.
The Perth Branch this month welcomes co-author of the book, David James, to give us a virtual tour through the damplands as it is today, as well outlining its chequered history. Unfortunately no books will be for sale at the meeting although it is available as a free e-book (details in the presentation).
Doors at the Community Centre open at 7:45 pm for an 8:00 pm start, with a $3 donation giving entry to the night’s door prize.
The Wildflower Society uses its independent technical knowledge of WA’s wildflowers to help you better know, grow, enjoy and conserve the wildflowers of Western Australia.
