WSWA Conference Presentation – South of the river bushlands – Alex George
Alex worked at the Western Australian Herbarium for 21 years, which gave him the opportunity to do fieldwork throughout the State, discovering many new species of plants. He spent 1968 as Australian Botanical Liaison Officer at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. In 1981 he moved to Canberra as editor of the Flora of Australia for 12 years. He then returned to Perth as a botanical and editorial consultant. He is now retired but continues with his interests in botanical history and studying our wildflowers.
