Eastern Hills Branch
The Eastern Hills Branch is based in Glen Forrest, at the Octagonal Hall. The Branch has monthly meetings on the fourth Friday of the month, with guest speakers talking on a range of interesting topics. Doors open at 7:00pm during the winter months and 7.30pm in summer.
The branch has a Propagation group, where you can learn to grow your own natives. Propagation materials are available to members as discounted prices.
There is a comprehensive collection of local seeds that members can purchase, and a herbarium to help you identify plants from the area. There is a Seed cleaning group which meets fortnightly for many months of the year, to prepare seeds for germination.
Short, 2 hour Wildflower walks are held in the local hills area, during winter and spring and are advertised on the events page. These are an excellent way to get to know the flora of the Perth Hills
Members also have access to a comprehensive lending and reference library. Books may be borrowed at monthly meetings and other regular group activities held at the Octagonal Hall.
As a member and if you live in the local area you will receive a monthly, electronic newsletter published by the Branch that will keep you updated about Branch activities and general wildflower related information.
A Plant Sale is held annually on the Saturday before Mothers Day in May. The plants are propagated by members and last year over 250 species were available for purchase.
