Perth Branch July meeting featuring Karina Knight on Slime Moulds
12 July, 2022 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Myxomycetes in Western Australia
Slime moulds (Myxomycetes) have surely been lumbered with the most unappealing of names for a taxonomic group. But to those who appreciate them, slime moulds are a fascinating and attractive group.
At our July General Meeting, our invited guest Karina Knight will share the beauty and wonders of these tiny organisms and how Western Australia became a hotspot of studies in slime moulds. Karina is a Research Associate based at the Western Australian Herbarium and undertakes taxonomic research into Western Australian slime moulds.
As usual, our meeting will be on the second Tuesday of the month – 14 June – at the Subiaco Community Centre.
Doors open at 7.45 pm for an 8 pm start. A $3 donation gets you entry into the night’s door prize. All are welcome.
The Wildflower Society uses its independent technical knowledge of WA’s wildflowers to help you better know, grow, enjoy and conserve the wildflowers of Western Australia.
