$3Come and meet the top Australian botanist Alex George!
Not only an author of popular books and articles on Australian Flora but also fanatic enthusiast of history behind the botanical discoveries.
Through the names of the plants, Alex will describe some of the history of the discovery and naming of our flora.
Dampiera pictured above was named after the first recorded collector of Western Australian plants, William Dampier named by the Scottish botanist Robert Brown, who collected specimens on the Investigator voyage.
Come, hear interesting stories from Alex and enjoy the evening filled with wildflowers enthusiasts. Door opens at 7.30, show off your natives at 7:45 before the presentation at 8 pm. $3 raffle ticket can win you something natively interesting + refreshments provided.
