Perth Branch General Meeting featuring Prof. Hans Lambers

8 March, 2022 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm

A Jewel in the Crown of a Global Biodiversity Hotspot: the story of the rare Grevillea thelemanniana and its allies

Our guest in March is Emeritus Professor Hans Lambers who will be giving a presentation on the Greater Brixton Street Wetlands and some of the rare plants within it.

Within Greater Perth, the Greater Brixton Street Wetlands are well known for their enormous plant species richness. They are home to numerous plant species that have special conservation value as well as several threatened ecological communities. A key question will be addressed: why are these species there and why are they rare? Whilst we don’t have an answer that question for all the rare species in the Greater Brixton Street Wetlands, Prof. Hans will tell a fascinating story about one of the Declared Rare Flora species: Grevillea thelemanniana

The presentation will be the feature of the Perth Branch’s General Meeting on Tuesday evening, 8 March, at the Subiaco Community Centre.

In line with health advice and regulations from the State Government, mask wearing remains mandatory in all City of Subiaco facilities and proof of vaccination needs to be shown on entry (for acceptable forms of proof, see the https://www.wa.gov.au/government/covid-19-coronavirus/covid-19-coronavirus-getting-proof-of-covid-19-vaccinations)

Doors open at 7.45 pm for an 8 pm start. A $3 donation gets you entry into the night’s door prize. All are welcome.
