Wildflowers and Me

13 November, 2018 @ 8:00 pm

Wildflowers and Me

A series of talks by a number of the advocates, and of course lovers, of wildflowers of Australia, with a focus on WA’s wildflowers, has been the theme of the 2018 talks at the Perth Branch’s monthly public lectures.

Concluding the year’s theme on how a diversity of people in our community came to love and work with the state’s wildflowers we present a global circling group of Mark Brundrett, Jolanda Keeble and Lyn Roberts at Perth’s Branch of the Wildflower Society’s annual general meeting.

Mark from Canada originally working on growing bigger Eucalypts with fungi to a love of Orchids because of their association with fungi. Jolanda from Europe to environmental consultancies on pollution control on NW islands and now field guides to Wildflower regions.  Lyn from Australia from a specialist theatre nurse to sterile plating techniques for embryo rescue and orchids at Kings Park. All are committee members of Perth Branch.

Venue: Subiaco Community Centre across the road from Crossways Shopping Centre in Bagot Road. Doors open at 7.45pm and the meeting begins at 8pm. Supper is served after the talk and everyone is eligible for the night’s door prize. Non members welcome ($2 donation)
