Soils are a result of the weathering of rocks, sediments and in some occasions, accumulation of organic matter. Soil scientist, Dr Dan Carter’s presentation will discuss their numerous roles in the environment including nutrient supply, water supply and ground support to many vegetation types.

Jolanda Keeble: ‘Field Guide for Wongan Hills’
For most wildflower enthusiasts, the Wongan Hills is well known as a significant nature reserve in the Shire of Wongan-Ballidu; it is located about a 2.5 hour drive north-east of Perth. The area is also famous for its yearly Verticordia Festival at Reynoldson Reserve.
Jolanda started working on a book about the flora of Wongan Hills in 2022. She will share some of the background work and the results that led to this publication.
