The Ravensthorpe Wildflower Show is the main event on the festival calendar; now in its 35th year it is an internationally recognised world-class botanical floral display. It attracts amateurs, enthusiasts and professionals, artists, photographers and nature loving tourists from around the world. All agree that our region’s flower show is one of the best. There is so much to see in the area so don’t plan on driving through as you will need a couple of days to soak it all up and even then you will only be scratching the surface.
Ravensthorpe Wildflower Show: 10th Sept -23rd Sept The Wildflower Show will be in its NEW location in the beautifully renovated Ravensthorpe Town Hall (35 Dunn Street), with the added indulgence of a brand new herbarium. This new state of the art purpose built herbarium is an annexe to the hall and will be officially opened during the show. The new home means there will be plenty of room to display the collections and house specimens collected over the years.
You can expect to see over 600 hundred botanically identified plant species in one location and on display these are picked (under license), botanically identified, collated and put on display by our dedicated volunteers. This could very well be the world’s largest wildflower show.
The town hall will be adorned with floral sculptures and displays along with a fascinating collection of bush items and articles featuring the Chuditch and Echidna thanks to Eve Green local enthusiast. Perth based award-winning florist Matthew Landers will be training up locals prior to the Wildflower Show to design and present floral sculptures featuring 3 Wildflower Chandeliers and to florally deck out 12 mannequins, Sponsored by the Ravensthorpe Regional Arts Council these Sculptures will be exhibited in the Town Hall for the duration of the show.
