Professor Giles Hardy : Marri Canker – and its risk to native fauna

12 October, 2017 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

$2.00

For a number of years, Murdoch University researchers have been warning that thousands of beautiful Marri trees throughout the South West are dying, or are already dead, from two devastating fungal pathogens – a Marri canker, and the Shoot and Flower Blight – collectively known as Marri Decline.

Professor Hardy’s presentation will bring us up-to-date with this terrible problem, as well as the impact the death of Marri is having on flora and fauna biodiversity. He will also discuss another fungi-like pathogen, Phytophthora Dieback.
